Discovering Your Purpose: Seeking God's Will Through Prayer
Dear Prayers,
Today, I want to talk about discovering your purpose through prayer and seeking God's will for your life. It's no secret that I believe prayer is the first line of connection for seeking God in your life. As we grow in faith, many have questions about what God's purpose for our lives are.
However, I find that the revelations God reveals daily in prayer have the power to unlock your purpose for that day, that season in your life, or that moment. There is no one set way that God will reveal his purpose for us individually. So I will not tell you exactly how to discover your purpose right now.
I will offer you the power of prayer and some biblical steps that can guide you in discovering your purpose through prayer:
Seek God first - Matthew 6:33 " But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
In Matthew 6 we also find the Lord's prayer. I believe the Lord's Prayer is also a great blueprint for clues to what is our daily purpose: Matthew 6:9-13 (New Living Translation) reads:
9 Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. 10 May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today the food we need, 12 and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. 13 And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
Surrender your will - Proverbs 3:5-6 " Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
