Is It Time to Prepare for Winter?
In my quiet time with God, He has been urging me to prepare for winter. This preparation goes beyond just wearing coats, reading books, or making warm meals and hot tea. Perhaps it's a metaphor for living in what is unseen, a call to anchor ourselves in faith and the promises of God, rather than in the fleeting comforts of this world. Too often, the allure of "greener grass" can lead us to focus on what hasn't yet come, or on what we hope will be, rather than embracing the blessings and tasks God has placed before us today.
Before I go any further, I want to say, God bless you for making it through another week. Each day is a gift, as we are reminded in James 4:14: "Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes."
So let me encourage you to take a moment today, and perhaps over the weekend, to reflect on this:
