Patience in the Midst of Change

It is easy to feel overwhelmed when life changes, but it is important to remember that God has a plan for us, and He will never lead us astray. He wants us to be patient in the midst of change, trusting that He is in control. The Bible verse James 1:3-4 says,

“For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

We must remember that God is in control and He has a plan for us, even if we can’t see it. As we go through this time of changing seasons, let us take comfort in God’s promises, and have patience knowing that it will all work out in the end. Here are seven biblical tips for being patient:

  1. Trust in the Lord: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

  2. Meditate on Scripture: “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8)

  3. Pray: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6)

  4. Live in the Moment: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:34)

  5. Don’t be Hard on Yourself: “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:13)

  6. Don’t Compare Yourself to Others: “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:4)

  7. Seek Wisdom: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5)

Dear Father God, 
We come to you on this Wednesday morning
To say thank you for waking us up. 
Thank you for the abilities of our body
That we may take for granted. 
Lord forgive us of our sins, 
And help us to forgive. 
Not our will but your will be done today. 
Help us to find time in our days to worship you. 
Teach us to let go of the former things
And focus on what is new in our lives. 
Keep us away from temptation. 
Control our mouths. 
In Jesus’ name, we pray. 
Amen.
