Speak Life, Not Negativity: What the Bible Says
Have you ever found yourself speaking negatively over your life? Maybe you've said something like "I'm never going to be able to do this" or "I'll never get out of this situation." If so, you're not alone!
The Bible talks about the power of our words and how important it is to speak life over ourselves and our situations. Proverbs 18:21 says,
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."
We have the ability to speak life over our lives and our circumstances. We can choose to speak of God's promises and of the hope that we have. We can choose to speak of possibility and of all the good that God has in store for us.
Here are eight verses from the Bible that will help us this upcoming month speak life and not negativity:
Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Colossians 4:6 “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.”
Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
