Stewarding Your Life: 5 Biblical Principles to Follow
As we enter the month of September, it’s important to reflect on how we’re stewarding our lives. Are we using our time, talents, and resources in a way that honors God?
Here are five biblical principles to guide us in being great stewards:
Put God first. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to us. When we prioritize our relationship with God, everything else falls into place.
Use our gifts to serve others. 1 Peter 4:10 reminds us that each of us has received a gift, and we should use it to serve one another. Whether it’s through volunteering or helping a neighbor, we can make a difference in the lives of those around us.
Be wise with our finances. Proverbs 21:20 tells us that the wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down. We can honor God with our finances by budgeting, saving, and giving generously.
Take care of our bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. We can steward our physical health by eating well, exercising, and getting enough rest.
Guard our hearts and minds. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” We can steward our emotional and mental health by filling our minds with truth, choosing joy, and resisting negativity.
Let’s pray together:
Dear Father God,
We thank you for this month of September.
Thank you for the simple things you give us in life.
Help us be great stewards over what you have given us to work with in this season.
Help us deny the flesh and strengthen the spirit man this month.
Help us rejoice in the wonders of who you are.
Let us not be phased by negativity.
All these things and more we pray:
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen. 🙏🏾
May we all steward our lives well this month, and always.
Blessings,
